Raised by an American mother and Austrian father, David grew up in an international environment which began to shape his curiosity about different cultures. He studied at the University of Virginia from 1995 to 1999 where he completed two bachelor degrees in economics and anthropology. These studies further strengthened David’s passion for cultural diversity and raised his awareness of many issues facing the world. Particularly interested in the co-existence between indigenous peoples and technologically advanced societies, David uses the camera to communicate his observations of the world. Having studied at the Danish School of Photojournalism in Aarhus, Denmark, worked for commercial photographers, and interned at the photo agency VII, David enjoys mixing photographic styles depending on the subject matter. He enjoys spending time near Washington D.C., where he grew up, in the Tyrolian Alps in Austria and northern Italy, and France where he now resides.

Élevé par une mère américaine et d'un père autrichien, David a grandi dans un environnement international qui a commencé à façonner sa curiosité sur les différentes cultures. Il a étudié à l'Université de Virginie de 1995 à 1999 où il a obtenu deux baccalauréats en économie et en anthropologie. David porte son regard sur le monde à travers son appareil photo en attachant une importance toute particulière à la co-existence entre les peuples indigènes et les sociétés occidentales. Ses études à l'Ecole Danoise de Photojournalisme au Danemark et son expérience professionnelle dans le domaine de la photographie commerciale lui ont permis de développer un style personnel à travers l’utilisation de diverses techniques en fonction du sujet et de l’environnement. David passe beaucoup de temps en Europe et aux Etats Unis: Washington DC sa ville natale, les Alpes tyroliennes en Autriche et en Italie du Nord, et la France où il réside depuis 2004.
